Silderm have launched Dual Action Scar Gel - a truly innovative treatment that is clinically proven to flatten scars, reduce the redness and minimise the pain and itching that is normally associated with scar tissue.



Dual Action Scar Gel contains the same surgically approved silicone ingredients as Scar Gel and Scar Spray, but has the added benefit of a roller ball to apply the treatment. Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists support the use of silicone in the management of scars, and the massaging action of the roller ball during application enhances the action of the silicone ingredients.

Dual Action Scar Gel has been shown to have a good or very good effect in about 80% of patients with scars that result from trauma injury, burns or surgery. The best results are achieved when used immediately the wound has healed, but it has also been shown to improve older scars, even up to 20 years old if they are still red and raised. If scars are white and indented, Scar Gel may have little effect.

Dual Action Scar Gel will take about three months to work on the majority of scars, but some results should be seen after about two weeks. The scar will flatten and the redness start to get lighter.
