SilcSkin Eye Pads Product Review

Rachel's Product Review:

silcskin eye review

As much as I love an eye cream, they do have a tendency to leave me with slightly puffy eyes no matter how careful I am with my application.

I do also love an under eye mask but, if I was to use one, I do shamefully tend to opt for a cheap disposable one so I love that SilcSkin is reusable AND good for the environment! Due to all of these factors, SilcSkin Eye Pads sounded like the perfect eye cream alternative for me!

The 100% medical grade silicone has as many benefits (if not more) as a traditional eye cream does - medical grade silicone has been around and used for many years by plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and even the NHS to treat scars and topical skin injuries. The silicone here has many anti-ageing properties as it cleverly helps to eliminate and prevent under-eye bags, crows feet, and smooths crepiness caused by wrinkles that gradually form around the eye contour. Or, if you have a tendency to sleep on your side. Simply apply them to the under-eye area at any time of day, you can even sleep in them.

They are very safe to be used around even the most sensitive of eyes and can be left on without worry for long periods. The antidote to fix all your under-eye hangups.

What's not to love?

silcskin eye review

To begin with, I chose to wear them in the daytime so that I could see properly how they wore and felt on the skin. I was going out later on in the evening so applied them in the morning and let them do their work. They stuck very securely but gently to my under-eye so there was no worry of them coming off. After a while, I totally forgot they were there. They are almost transparent on the skin so I even went to the shop in them throughout the day! I removed them around 7 hours later and my eyes looked fresh, awake and I was surprised just how much any visible inflammation/puffiness had dramatically disappeared. My makeup applied really well over the top!

Next, I tried wearing the same pair overnight to see how it was by the morning. They still stuck well onto my skin even though it was the second use. To be honest, they did feel a little strange at first wearing something on my face while trying to sleep but I soon forgot that they were there again as they are so light. By the morning, I removed and as I am a side sleeper, I was pleased with how there were no creases on the side of my face where there would usually be!

As for cleaning, I was apprehensive to clean them as they are so delicate and I'm thinking surely getting them wet would ruin them but that wasn't the case at all. In the morning, I gently ran them under the tap along with some baby shampoo and left them to dry naturally with the adhesive side facing upwards. By the evening, they were completely dry and to my surprise, the adhesiveness was still there, and if anything it had revived and strengthened it.

Overall, I have a few very faint fine lines around my eyes but my main goal was to target and prevent any puffiness while making my eyes look more fresh and awake which I 100% achieved.

After a few uses (as with an eye cream... the results aren't going to happen overnight!) I could also see that my few fine lines were less noticeable too. My next one to try is the best-selling SilcSkin Decollette Pad!
