I was kindly given a bottle to try by Carly from Skinbrands and because I suffer with melasma on my forehead, I was keen to try it.

I have been using Lytera for a few months now and I can say that my pigmentation has slightly reduced, but also my overall skin tone appears brighter and more even toned.

What I like about Lytera is that it contains many of the proven skin-lightening agents, which I think are essential in a skin-lightening product. When it comes to treating pigmentation, multiple products are required for optimal results.
Topical lightening agents help to reduce pigmentation by inhibiting enzymes that produce melanin (skin pigment). Common lightening agents include kojic acid, azelic acid, licorice, sabi white, mulberry and skin brightening peptides.

Using AHA’s (glycolic acid, lactic acid), retinol and vitamin C also helps to treat pigmentation.

Lytera contains a remarkable amount of niacinamide along with stabilised vitamin C, retinol, licorice root and skin brightening peptides, which all have the proven ability to lighten discolouration.

It also contains antioxidants to help repair the skin and reduce further damage.

This is a very lightweight, thin lotion which absorbs quickly and is not sticky at all. It has not caused me any irritation or breakouts. I absolutely love the smell too!

I only use one pump for the whole of my face at night. The directions advise to use it twice a day, but I'm just using it once a day for now.

If you have quite stubborn pigmentation then I would always recommend using a retinol night cream alongside a lightening product.

The only negative thing I can say is that it is a bit pricey, but it does come in a larger size of 60ml whereas most lightening products come in a 30ml size.

overall, I'm very happy with this product and will continue to use it.
