Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream - Product Review

Dr Barbara Sturm Eye Cream
Dr. Barbara Sturm's hydrating Eye Cream has been specially developed to target the dark shadows, bags, and puffiness around the delicate eye area. Purslane with the special complex of Golden Root, Sugar Beet and Yeast provides a soothing 'de-puffing' effect. While active Omega lipids help the skin to retain moisture for a more youthful appearance.

Rachels Review

Dr. Barbara Sturm is a famous German Doctor; popular amongst celebrities. Dr. Sturm firmly believes that inflammation is the root of most ageing and therefore this is where her brand evolved from. Purslane, being a key ingredient across the whole of her range, is a well-known anti-inflammatory that helps to calm and improve the overall complexion.

Eye creams are definitely something that I believe should be used from an early age - prevention is always better than the cure - it's always the product that people regret not starting to use earlier! Now, this eye cream claims to target dark circles, under-eye bags and excess puffiness so, for the price tag, I wanted to put it to the test.

It's the first thing that I put on after double cleansing but before my relevant serum & moisturiser, twice a day, so that it can really absorb into my delicate area around the eye without any barriers. I gently tap under the eye with my ring finger (the orbital bone, not directly underneath) and under the eyebrow bone, being really careful not to pull at the thin skin or doing anything too damaging. Sometimes I apply to my upper lip line as a preventative treatment too. I would use no more a grain of rice size per eye otherwise my eyes would become slightly puffy - which is normal for me, not because of this eye cream.

The texture is almost like a light, airy cream-gel however it feels rich and nourishing under the eyes and blends in almost immediately.

Going back to the initial claims of reduced dark circles, under-eye bags and excess puffiness, I would stand by them. I don't particularly suffer from dark circles or under-eye bags (usually!) however I definitely noticed a difference in the appearance of puffiness if I happened to wake up on a morning and noticed I was more puffy than usual. After application, it would reduce significantly very quickly and I felt more refreshed. I didn't experience any sensitivity and sometimes my eyes can be so.

Mix a little with your liquid concealer and apply if you want a really fresh, light makeup look.

It's been in my bathroom for a few months now and I'm hooked. I still have more than half of my 15ml tub left so I'm really pleased and will for sure be repurchasing in the future.
