Create the lip shape that you’ve always wanted, instantly. Full, voluptuous lips have been the latest beauty trend for the past couple of years and it doesn’t seem to be fading out any time soon. But, actually, this look has been around us for a very long time... I’m sure we can all think about many famous beauty icons throughout the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s!
A fuller pout can help the face to appear more balanced as all facial features are then in proportion altogether. If you don’t like the idea of having cosmetic injectables or, if you would like to enhance your injectable results then keep on reading for helpful advice.
Step 1 – Exfoliate The Lips
Due to your lips having no oil or sweat glands, they can end up dry extremely easily resulting in cracked, flaky lips. Regularly exfoliating the lips helps to remove the build-up of dead skin cells, resulting in a smoother surface, and preps the lips for lipstick too. Exfoliating the lips also increases circulation and blood flow. This will bring blood flow to the surface area and as a result, lips look truly fuller and richer in colour. Try the lip polish that comes within the iS CLINICAL Lip Duo as and when you feel that you need it, or, daily.
Step 2 – Slightly, Over Line The Lips
Slightly, over lining the lip line gives the illusion of larger, fuller lips. Ideally, try not to veer too far away from the natural lip line and also pay close attention to the cupids bow (that’s the centre of the top lip) and just trace against the outside of the lip line, ensuring that there is no gap or skin visible between the natural lip line and lip liner line. As well as this, as we age, lipstick has a tendency to bleed where fine lines occur around the lips so; lip liner is a great way to prevent this type of bleeding too.
Step 3 – Apply A Nude Lipstick
Applying a lighter, nude lipstick that is correctly matched for your skin tone and colouring will help to make the lips appear fuller. We would recommend avoiding darker shades of lipstick when you want your lips to appear bigger, however, alternatively, they are great if you wish to minimise your lip size instead!
Hydropeptide Lip Glosses are fantastic lip plumper that contains multiple peptides. As we age, we lose and produce less collagen and elastin, which is why we form fine lines and wrinkles. However, peptides help to produce more collagen and elastin, resulting in younger-looking skin.
Step 4 – Highlight The Cupids Bow
Finally, finish off the look with a little highlighter on your cupids bow and at the base of your lips and thoroughly ensure that you blend with the warmth of your fingers so that it looks completely seamless. Use either a soft, nude eye shadow for best results. This is a secret trick used by pro make-up artists all the time. A bonus is that you can also use the illuminator on the other high points of your complexion such as the bridge of your nose, the inner corner of your eyes, and the upper and lower eyebrow bone. Just remember to blend and keep it soft and subtle.
There you have it... fuller lips, instantly!
