Longtime friends, Dr. Sturm and Angela Bassett share the same philosophy regarding healthy and youthful skin, and after two years of research and rigorous product testing, they are launching a range of highly effective products that address the unique concerns of men and women with darker skin tones.
As in Dr. Sturm’s main line, launched in 2011, the new collection is formulated with potent active ingredients including Purslane that nourish the skin, reduce inflammation and hyperpigmentation, and even skin tone, while minimizing pores and helping to prevent breakouts.
Dr. Barbara Sturm for darker skin tones range includes five products that can also be used in combination with Dr. Sturm’s highly regarded core collection.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Cleanser for Darker Skin Tones featuring a gently effective, soft foam provides deep cleansing without upsetting the skin’s natural moisture balance. Salicylic acid gently softens dead skin cells and cleanses the skin deeply, for a fresh and radiant appearance. Use daily.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Enzyme Cleanser for Darker Skin Tones containing Vitamin C and enzymes including Subtilisin acts as both a cleansing foam and enzyme peel. When mixed with water, the fine-grain powder converts to a soft foam for gentle and effective cleansing. The enzymes remove dry and rough skin and reduce excess oil, resulting in a fresh and radiant appearance. Use two or three times a week in place of the foam cleanser.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream & Face Cream Rich for Darker Skin Tones harness the power of extracts of Magnolia and African Whitewood Bark to refine the pores, reduce sebum flow and provide intensive moisture. The active ingredient Lumicol evens out skin tone and leaves the complexion with a fresh and even glow.
Active anti-ageing ingredients including Magnolia Bark Extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin B3 promote cell renewal, while Purslane activates the skin’s own antioxidant defence system and protects sensitive cell membranes against free radicals. Cell protecting ingredient Telovitin provides additional anti-ageing benefits by protecting against premature degradation of telomeres, enabling cells to divide more often and for longer periods of time.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Face Cream & Face Cream Rich for Darker Skin Tones are formulated with the same nourishing and anti-ageing properties. The “rich” formula is especially recommended for normal to dry skin.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum for Darker Skin Tones contains Lumicol, a complexion refiner, and pure Hyaluronic Acid to even skin tone and improve complexion clarity. Long and short-chain Hyaluronic Acids provide intensive moisturization with an instant refreshing effect and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Purslane activates the skin’s own antioxidant defence system and protects sensitive cell membranes against free radicals. In combination with Lumicol, Purslane adds radiance to the skin for a more refined and glowing appearance. For best results use over a period of one to three weeks.
