Pigmentation

FAQ's - I tried everything to treat my ..

I tried everything to treat my hyperpigmentation but it doesn’t seem to go away. What can I do?

It is very important to understand that pigmentation can not be treated from one day to another. It requires more or less 2 or 3 months of treatment before any results are going to start to be visible, firstly because it occurs at the cellular level and secondly because it needs to be controlled before it is removed.

Ingredients to use to treat hyperpigmentation is Phytic acid or Kojic acid.
Kojic acid & Phytic acid helps correct melanin pigmentation and are suitable for melasma, chloasma, age/sun spots and pigmentation etc Studies indicate that theses acids show greater effectiveness than Hydroquinone based bleaching preparation with less sensitivity, side or long-term complications.

What Kojic acid does?
It inhibits the production of excess melanin, prevents excess melanin from travelling to the skin’s surface, and breaks up melanin clusters on the skin’s surface to diminish existing discolouration.

A most important part of your skincare regime is sun protection. Make sure that you use it daily, even when cloudy as it prevents further pigmentation marks

Also using regularly exfoliants like AHA's (glycolic acid) can also help fade pigmentation as it increases exfoliation and skin cell turnover. If you haven’t got very sensitive skin, I would go for a glycolic acid product
