The occurrence of bruising following aesthetic and cosmetic treatment is one of the most common concerns that patients have when planning a procedure. Every patient has their own recovery, for most it is comfortable and relatively painless but depending on the treatment most will encounter bruising to some degree. With bruising as high as 60% following non-surgical injectable treatment (Manufacturers own literature states the incidence of bruising to be: Juvederm 60% and Sculptra 38%) and 90% post cosmetic surgical procedure, patients want an effective treatment to prevent the occurrence of bruising. The Cosmetic Industry is increasingly competitive and patients have more choice of surgery and treatment providers than ever before. The top three factors that influence where a patient chooses for their procedure are: That they trust the skills of the provider, that they are getting value for money and the speed of recovery will allow them to return to normal life as quickly as possible. Of course patients are advised that bruising could occur prior to commencing treatment, but by significantly reducing or eliminating the incidence of bruising makes the treatment that much more attractive, in a patient eyes the time to heal is critical.

WHY DO PATIENTS BRUISE?

Both Contusions and Ecchymosis are the result of blood leaking into the tissue from damaged blood vessels known as capillaries. Bruises can take from 2-4 weeks to heal, the degree of damage will usually dictate the size and severity of the bruise. However, some people are more susceptible to bruising for a variety of reasons i.e. age, concomitant medication or medical conditions.

WHICH TREATMENTS IS BRUISE MD SUITABLE FOR USE?

Bruise MD is suitable for use in any instance where bruising is likely to occur for example: Injectable, Botox, Liposuction / Vaser, Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Facelift, Abdominoplasty and Laser Treatment.

HOW DOES BRUISE MD WORK?

Bruise MD is a unique formulation containing water and glycerol which penetrates the cell walls in skin and will therefore take the water into the tissue where the bruise is starting to form or has developed. Bruise MD hydrates tissue and prevents the bruise from forming, or if the bruise has already formed it will hydrate the skin cells which masks the bruise on the skins surface.
