SkinCeuticals Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50 product review

SkinCeuticals Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50 Ultra-lightweight sunscreen that combines correction of discolouration and protection. The dual-action sunscreen simultaneously protects against UV damage, whilst also correcting the appearance of discolouration thanks to an innovative combination of broad-spectrum UV protection and active brightening ingredients.

- Ultra-lightweight

- Broad-spectrum sunscreen

- Dual action to correct and protect against UV damage

- Corrects the appearance of discolouration

- Brightens skin tone & evens out the complexion

Formulated with 1% Tranexamic Acid, 2% Niacinamide and state of the art UV filters, this new sunscreen is clinically proven to improve skin clarity and brightness, and reduce the appearance of discolouration. Brightening active ingredient Tranexamic Acid is included in this formulation at 1% and works by de-activating the inflammatory mediators responsible of melanin formation. 2% Niacinamide disrupts the efficiency of melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes, which is responsible for visible surface discolouration.

Andrea's Review:

I was really excited to try the NEW Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50 sunscreen by SkinCeuticals. As many of you may know, I struggle with pigmentation so to find a sunscreen that treats & protects against pigmentation is pretty amazing!

I love the texture of the Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50. It is very light, non greasy, non sticky, odourless and does not leave a white cast. I found that I didn't need to use a moisturiser underneath this, just an Hyaluronic Acid serum.   Containing Niacinamide in addition to Tranexamic Acid is great for helping to brighten the complexion and correct discolouration. Additionally, having an SPF50 rating rather than SPF30 provides higher protection.   I really do prefer this sunscreen and have found that since using it, my skin appears much brighter. I am impressed that it offers more than just UV protection. I only wish Skinceuticals would bring out a tinted version next!
