What Are The Key Ingredients?

Gentle-Release 2% Salicylic Acid, 2%: Decongesting and exfoliating from within the pore, salicylic acid promotes a visibly clarified complexion. Encapsulation technology gently delivers salicylic acid into the skin, for comfortable daily use even on sensitive complexions.

Tranexamic Acid: A brightening ingredient that works to even areas of uneven skin tone, and can help to minimise the appearance of post-blemish imperfections and dark spots.

 Press & Clear features a max strength 2% Salicylic Acid in Gentle-Release Encapsulation Technology. When applied to the skin, encapsulation is slowly broken down by skin enzymes to gently release salicylic acid into the skin overtime, minimising any potential for irritation.

 Medik8 Cyclodextrin Encapsulation to control the release of Salicylic Acid. It's the same encapsulation technology that Medik8 use in Sleep Glycolic and Crystal Retinal formulations.

Optimised pH

The Press & Clear formula has an optimised pH of ~5.5, to remain aligned with the natural pH of the skin ensuring a comfortable experience when using the toner.

Many other BHA toners use low pHs, to follow the traditional theory that for an exfoliating acid to work, it requires a low pH to ‘activate’ within the skin. This is true for many acids, such as glycolic acid and gluconolactone. However, salicylic acid is unique in that it is proven to be just as effective an exfoliation agent at a neutral pH, as it has at a low pH.

Hence, in Press & Clear, Medik8 uses a more neutral pH of 5.5 to match that of skin; retaining the power of the salicylic acid while leaving it more suitable for sensitive, blemish-prone skin types.

What Is The Difference Between Press & Clear and Press & Glow?

 

How Do I Use It?

Unlock by twisting the top half of the pump anti-clockwise until it clicks to activate. After cleansing in the morning and/or evening, hold a facial pad (reusable is best) firmly over Press & Clear and push down 3-4 times. Sweep the pad over the complexion, avoiding the delicate eye area. Twist the pump clockwise until it clicks to secure. Store out of direct sunlight. We advise new users to apply once a day and note the skin’s response, then use it up to twice daily. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Follow with Medik8 Hydr8 B5 and C Tetra.
