My Review:

I recently had the chance to try out Medik8's H.E.O Mask, and it was a delightful experience!

This mask  is specifically formulated with 9 powerful skin-strengthening ingredients including ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and squalane that plumps the skin with much-needed hydration. My skin felt instantly soothed and cool after application of the mask, and within minutes I could already notice an improved texture. Over time, my skin became plumper, smoother and more supple as if replenished with natural moisture. I am highly impressed by this treatment, which revitalizes tired and ageing skin quickly while reinforcing its health altogether.
The mask is easy to incorporate into your routine; I used it twice weekly as an overnight treatment. I began by double cleansing and using the Medik8 Press and Glow Toner, then I started the mask application.

The mask is a two part process.

Step 1 is a cooling blue gel – this step provides the Humectants for your skin. Humectants act as moisture magnets, drawing water into the skin. These ingredients include a multi-weight hyaluronic acid, glycerin, natural moisturising factors and blue sea kale. I used the recommended amount and massaged this into the skin for several minutes until fully absorbed. When this was applied I instantly felt a cooling effect which was lovely on even my sensitive skin. I left the gel a few more minutes to absorb before starting step 2.

Step 2 is a rich cream and provides the Emollients and Occlusive’s part of the mask. Emollients replenish lost moisture and restore the skin barrier, these include ceramides, squalane and lineloic acid. Finally the occlusive’s are there to seal the moisture in and prevents it from evaporating. This mask includes dimethicone which forms a breathable barrier over the skins surface. I applied the cream in the exact same motion as I did the gel. I used a good amount of product to ensure I got the maximum benefit. I did feel it took a while t=for this to sink in but as I was using it as an overnight mask I wanted it to be rich and dewy.

My skin over the winter months is very dry and dehydrated so this mask was a PERFECT addition to my routine, I love it. I felt that in the mornings after using it, my finer lines were reduced. My skin was much suppler and visibly plumper. I do also have sensitive skin and felt that this mask really supported and reinforced my skin barrier.

If you’re looking for a mask dedicated to hydration, this is the only one you need. An absolute must-have for the colder months.
