SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Essence Mist - Product Review

phyto mist

I love a mist. My skin loves a mist. I was very excited to try this new product from SkinCeuticals. I already think that their Phyto Corrective range is superb for reactive/sensitive skins and I had high hopes for the mist. The Phyto Corrective products from SkinCeuticals are designed to calm, cool and hydrate irritable skins and have soothing properties to promote healing; perfect for post procedure or reactive skin.

Phyto Corrective Essence Mist

The Phyto Corrective Essence Mist is the latest product from SkinCeuticals, described as a lightweight hydrating facial mist; contains a blend of plant extracts and is suitable for all skin types.

My first use of the mist I already felt my skin needed some hydration so I used directly after cleansing after my face was a touch dry.  My first thought about it was that it is a very fine mist so I did apply 3-4 pumps across my face, neck, and décolletage. I expected it to be slightly heavier as like some other mists; which I like the feeling of the liquid settling into my skin, this one I felt I needed 3 pumps minimum to get that effect. I like the scent; it is very botanical encompassing cucumber, grapefruit and rosemary. My skin felt hydrated and clean, I allowed this to absorb before applying additional products.

I started to use the mist twice daily in my skincare regimes. I also decided to take it to work and apply it throughout the day as my workplace is warm and I feel it dries my skin slightly on certain days. Throughout the day I would liberally apply the mist over makeup to help with retaining hydration levels in my skin. The mist did not offset my makeup or irritate my skin at all when using it throughout the day. I felt that using the mist throughout the day was a nice boost for my skin.

I used the mist for 2 months and feel it was a nice complement to my skincare regimes. I preferred to use this throughout the day so I would keep it in my handbag and mist my face whenever I felt necessary. It would be suitable for any skin, any age or skin concern for added refreshment and hydration. For the price I do feel it is slightly higher than I would usually pay. If you are a mist/essence fan and want a luxury branded product or to gift to someone then this would be an ideal option. I wouldn’t repurchase as I feel there are lower budget products that can give similar benefits.
