Self Tan Mousse - New Product

self tan

EVY Self Tan Mousse combines skincare with self-tanning. It is based on EVY ’s patented technology, which boosts the skin’s natural defence system. The formula mimics and strengthens the skin’s protective barrier, prevents dehydration, and prepares the skin for the weather’s stressors without leaving a greasy or sticky feeling.
EVY’s unique formula is distributed throughout the top layer of the skin instead of settling on the surface and enhances the effect of the active substances.
The silky, smooth mousse is so intensely moisturising that you don’t need to moisturise before application. It’s almost scentless, with no colouring, won’t stain clothes and doesn’t need to be washed off.

The mousse is enriched with antioxidants and caring anti-ageing ingredients that preserve the skin’s elasticity and reduce fine lines. It also protects your skin’s DNA from UV-induced stress and premature ageing.
It ‘Burst’ the existing melanin pigments within the top skin layers, which results in an artificial darker tan that lasts a few days. A natural golden and even tan is visible after 2-4 hours and continues to develop throughout for 24 hours. The colour can also be enhanced gradually by repeated application. The soft and smudge-free mousse is easy to apply.

• Free from preservatives and perfume.
• Free from tinted guide colour
• Does not clog pores.
• No nanoparticles / Vegan.

1. The self-tanner produces an artificial tan that lasts just a few days since it is based on ingredients such as Dihydroxyacetone.
2. DHA reacts chemically with the amino acids in the stratum corneum to produce pigment when applied to the skin. The resulting pigments are called melanoidins, which are similar in pigment to melanin.
3. When this element comes into contact with the skin, it generates a chemical reaction, resulting in a darker skin tone.
4. Does not contain a sun protection factor.

SUITABLE FOR
• The dermatologically and allergy-tested formula is suitable for all skin types. Especially for sensitive skin.
• Recommended by skin care professionals as a safer alternative to UV radiation from the sun or hazardous tanning beds (skin cancer, skin burns, and premature skin ageing).
• For face and body.

TIPS
• A Self Tan Mousse bottle lasts approximately 6 - 8 full-body applications.
• The tanning lasts 4—10 days, with good preparation and maintenance this could be considerably longer.
• We recommend using the Daily Tan Activator to keep your self-tan and natural tan last longer. Moisturising is the key to keeping the tan for longer.
• The mousse leaves no film and is excellent under makeup.

KEY ACTIVES INGREDIENTS

DIHYDROXYACETONE or DHA. A self-tanning agent. DHA comes from glycerol. Scientists use microbial fermentation to create this glycerol from simple sugars. It reacts with amino
acids in the protein keratin on the skin’s surface to produce melanin, the brown pigment. It then darkens the skin via the Maillard reaction (This term describes the process where
amino acids react with sugars is a nonenzymatic reaction which produces browning). DHA produces a relatively long-lasting tan within a few hours (from 3 to 10 days, depending
on the formulation) without the risks of photodamaging of conventional tanning. DHA is a non-toxic way to create a temporary browning effect on your skin. Still, please keep in mind that each person has a different level of amino acids, which is why we all naturally tan slightly differently in the sun. In the same way, every self-tan result is individual to you
and tailors to your unique skin tone. DHA has been used in fake tans since the 1950s and is considered safe for most people.

ERYTHROSE a fermentation derived, natural keto-sugar that works as a self-tanning active. It reacts with the amino acids in the proteins of the first layers of skin (the stratum corneum and epidermis). It does not involve the underlying skin pigmentation nor does it require exposure to ultraviolet light to initiate the color change. It’s claimed to lead to a deep, even and long-lasting tan without streaks and without causing skin dryness. Erythrulose produces a lighter and slower-developing tan, taking 24 to 48 hours to complete development. Perfectly compatible with DHA in formulations.

LAMINARIA OCHROLEUCA EXTRACt. It comes from a golden seaweed and is a global antiaging and defense shield that reduces the release of inflammation mediators because:
• It increases collagen and Glycosaminoglycans up to +30%
• It degreases the acceleration of MMPs*.It is also a DNA protector after UVA/UVB exposure. It has the ability to inhibit the formation of “Sun Burn Cells” led by UV (UVB induced decrease: -50%), emphasize its moisturizing properties.

SQUALANE works like skin’s own oil to prevent moisture loss and restore suppleness. It helps neutralize damage caused by UV light and protect against lipid peroxidation which can damage pores. It helps to restore the skins natural defence and deeply hydrate the skin. Along with its moisturizing ability, squalane benefits also include being an oil-soluble
antioxidant. It works with other antioxidants in skin to neutralize damaging oxygen molecules generated when skin is exposed to UV light.

*MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASES (MMPs) are a group of enzymes that in concert are responsible for the degradation of most extracellular matrix proteins (ECM). ECM is a complex mixture of Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) (like Hyaluronic Acid, resist compressive forces), glycoproteins and fibrous proteins that provide tensile strength (collagens, elastin).

CANOLA OIL contains a high level of essential fatty acids, which moisturize the skin and enhance the strength of skin tissue. It’s also rich in Vitamin K, which helps keep the skin supple and smooth, and linoleic acid, which forms a barrier on the skin to keep moisture from escaping. It provides photoprotection and works as free radical scavenger. Also has an anti- inflammatory action and repair the UV damage

PROPANEDIOL Improves humectancy: As a humectant hair and skin conditioner, pulls moisture into the skin and encourages water retention. Prevents water loss: Thanks to its emollient properties, propanediol might soften and smooth skin by reducing water loss.

GLYCERIN enhances barrier function and reduces the Trans epidermal water loos (TEWL*). It is a moisturizer with long-lasting hydrating action. * Trans epidermal water loss occurs when the skin’s protective barrier is damaged or impaired, allowing excess moisture content evaporate from the skin into the atmosphere. The result is dry, dehydrated, and/or irritated skin.
Thanks to our unique technology, we can use longer lasting and less of active ingredients. Our formula contains about 70 percent water and effectively interacts with the skin, while only containing low levels of other substances.

TOCOPHERYL ACETATE is a form of Vitamin E. A lipid soluble antioxidant that is naturally present in the skin. It has some nice photoprotection properties, meaning
it can protect the skin from UV (and in case of Vit E it’s mainly UVB) rays. If you put it on your skin, it lowers the production of sunburn cells, reduces the damage caused by UVB rays and inhibits photo carcinogenesis. Vitamin E protect the skin from free radicals and promote skin healing to diminish signs of aging. It also provides moisture and strengthens skin’s protective barrier to prevent moisture loss. It is regenerated by Vitamin C for optimum power

VITAMINS
ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE is a lipid-soluble Vitamin C derivative with potential benefits for the skin: wrinkle reduction, photoprotection, improved hydration, reduction of hyperpigmentation and damage from free radicals. Also known as Tetra-isopalmitoyl Ascorbic Acid, it is a relatively stable form of Vitamin C. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate needs to be converted into Ascorbic acid in the skin to be beneficial. Even the most sensitive skin types can tolerate it.

SYNERGISTIC ACTION=VITAMIN E is an antioxidant required for the protection of cell membranes and prevents them from free radical damage. Vitamin C surrounds the cell membranes in the watery compartments and while it does not directly protect cell membranes from oxidation, it can recycle the vitamin as it is depleted, thus prolonging the protection conferred by vitamin E to the cell membranes. When applied together, vitamins C and E act as a natural form of sun protection.

THE AEROSOL BOTTLE in combination with the unique Evy’s technology forms a concentrate. The aerosol bottle forms a condensate, which means that it is never exposed to oxygen so it
makes sure that it stays airtight and fresh. Thus, they do not need preservatives and you can use EVY until its expiration date. Best before date is found at the bottom of the bottle. There
are no remains inside the bottle. The bottle is made of aluminium, and is recyclable forever.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Preparation:
• Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before using it. Insisting on dry areas (elbows, knees, feet)
• Apply to well-cleansed dry skin. Do not apply an oil-based body cream or any moisturiser, perfume, deodorant and essential oils just before your tan application.
• Always exfoliate and remove any unwanted body hair 24 hours before tanning to ensure the pores are closed.

Application:
• Shake the bottle and hold it upside down so that extra gas does not escape.
• Apply the self-tanner in areas starting first from the face, just as you would with a face moisturiser, and blend into the hairline and over the ears for a flawless finish.

• Continues with the arms, then the legs, followed by the torso. Massage the self-tanner into your skin in a circular motion.
• Spread the mousse evenly all over your body. Do not apply to damaged or irritated skin, and avoid eye contact.
• Feel free to use an application glove or wash your hands thoroughly.
• Leave it on for a few minutes while the product dries. Avoid showering within 4 hours after the treatment and allow your tan to develop over 8 hours for optimum results.
• Let it dry properly before you get dressed. Even though they are clean formulas and you don’t have to rinse them off, it is best to wear loose clothing for the next three hours and avoid sweating. It doesn’t transfer onto clothing or bedding.
• Do not expose yourself to the sun before 12 hours.
• Test the product on a small area if you have sensitive skin 24hrs before applying any tanning product for the first time.

Layering:
• It is designed to be layered. Apply one layer of tan all over the body for a nice sun-kissed glow. Let the first coat sit for
5 minutes, and apply another layer for a more bronzed glow. The product is buildable, so start with a small amount and continue to layer.
• Choose the colour according to your Fitzpatrick or how much tan you would like to have. Mixing colours is recommended. This product range is ideal for those who wish
for a light tan or to build up their depth of colour.

After application:
• The product has no guidance colour that needs to be washed off. Gradual tanning should not be
washed off. The effect of tanning is created in the skin.
• For optimum results, we advise avoiding showering, swimming, and sweating for 4—8 hours (ideally 8hrs) to allow the Self Tan to develop in the skin. So, apply it and wait at least 10 hours if you need to wash it. The longer you let the product work, the better it will last.
• If your tan is the shade you want to keep colour, you typically only have to apply Self-tan about once a week. If you’re swimming a lot, the sea and chlorinated water will fade your tan more quickly, so feel free to use the Daily Tan Activator daily!
• To remove the Self-tan, we recommend soaking in a warm bath and using an exfoliator. For perfect fade, exfoliate every 2—3 days.

Skin Care routine and maintenance:
• Apply sunscreen every day. You still need to protect your skin with sunscreen. Be sure that your sunscreen offers all of the following:
- SPF 30 or higher
- Broad-spectrum protection (UVA/UVB protection)
- Water resistance (this will protect your skin from the swimming pool and sea).
• Using sunscreen over a self-tanner is the best way to maintain an even skin tone and protect yourself from sun damage. Be sure to let the self-tanner dry completely before applying your sunscreen. Thus, please wait at least one hour after using a self-tanner; when it is dry, you can apply sunscreen. Apply your self-tan in the late afternoon
or evening for even better results. Apply sunscreen in the same way that you applied your self-tanner.
• Use the Daily Tan Activator as a Daily Moisturizer: Keeping your skin moisturised is essential for maintaining a healthy, sumptuous glow. Use the same type of lightweight, oil-free moisturiser you used to prep for your tan.
• Avoid physical and chemical exfoliators: Harsh products can decrease the vibrancy of your tan, making it fade Examples include exfoliators, retinoids, AHAs/ BHAs and acne treatments.
