How to take care of skin before, during and after flying?

FLYING

FLYING can wreak havoc on the skin

Airplane cabins have extremely low humidity, which can cause extreme dryness and dehydration in the skin.
The dry air can lead to tightness and irritation, and the lack of moisture in the cabin can cause your skin to overproduce oil and generate breakouts. And if you have dry skin, this will make it even drier.

Don't worry our skincare experts have some top tips for pre-flight, during flight, and post-flight.

PRE-FLIGHT

Tdermatx cleanser

Cleansing is key
To avoid landing at your destination with clogged pores, try double cleansing — remove your makeup first followed by an exfoliating cleanser afterwards.
DermaTx exfoliating cleansers have a cleanser for every skin type or concern.

Clarify Salicylic Cleanser- Ideal for oily, blemish-prone & enlarged pores

Brighten Glycolic Cleanser- Ideal for Sun-damage & anti-aging

Rejuvenate Lactic Cleanser - Ideal for dry, sensitive & dull skin

I would recommend you go make-up free if you can, by mixing makeup & exposing yourself to harsh flying conditions makes it harder for your skin to maintain a healthy balance.
If you really cannot board the plane makeup-free use Oxygenetix foundation as it contains a super-charged oxygen complex.

FLYING

IN-FLIGHT

Hydration
Feed the skin from the inside by drinking plenty of water during your flight.
Water will ease the damaging effects of flying on the skin, whilst boosting immunity which can be weakened by dry cabin conditions.
Avoid tea, coffee and alcohol, which are dehydrating.

You could boost your hydration levels by mixing Rejuvenated Hydration into your drinks, to help increase hydration levels and maintain the electrolyte balance.

Moisturise
A moisturiser is a must, ideally use a thicker cream than you might normally use. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides for ultimate hydration and skin barrier protection.
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer offers 30% Hyaluronic Acid & 72 hours of hydration!
To deliver maximum hydration apply a Hyaluronic Acid serum underneath your moisturiser.

Don't forget to hydrate your lips too.
A Lip mask is a great way to say goodbye to dry, chapped lips.

 FLYING

POST-FLIGHT

Exfoliate with a Microdermabrasion Scrub
This step will energise the skin, making it look and feel less tired by buffing away dead skin cells.
DermaTX Microdermabrasion creams use a combination of physical and chemical actions to deliver visible results in minutes.

It will also help avoid post-breakouts by clearing pores and not to mention helping your skincare products penetrate better.

Restore
A repairing & Hydrating face mask is the next step for the ultimate post-flying skincare routine.
Give your skin a boost of hydration with Medik8 Recovery Bio-cellulose sheet mask. Enriched with zinc and hyaluronic acid to restore and rejuvenate.

Protect
Regardless of destination and weather, a broad-spectrum SPF is a skincare must.
Why not try a tinted SPF moisturiser all in one, adds a hint of colour, subtle coverage, and protects!

We all know how important reapplying your sunscreen is during the day, but how do you re-apply it over your makeup?

A hydrating and weightless sunscreen mist that refreshes and sets makeup, while controlling shine throughout the day. Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera to boost hydration, soothe & calm the skin.

With the sun's strong rays and the ocean's salt water can often leave our skin feeling dry and dehydrated. Eminence Organic Facial Recovery Oil is packed with nourishing & soothing ingredients to help hydrate, restore and rejuvenate.

Bring your own skincare
Lastly, keep your skincare routine consistent.
keep up with your daily skincare routine whilst you are away.  Bring travel-sized products of your essential skincare products when you travel.
You really don't want to be switching and trying new skincare products whilst you are away, as it can cause adverse skin reactions.
