Emily's Skincare Regime

My skincare routine changes fairly often as I am always trying new things, however here are the products that  my skin couldn't live without.

I always keep my products on my dressing table but even my boyfriend can't keep his hands off them!

You may have seen from my previous reviews on products  that my skin suffers from breakouts and oil all year round so without my cosmeceutical products I can guarantee that my skin wouldn't look as good as it does now.

I am lucky enough to constantly be trying new products which means that its super hard for me to decide on what products are my absolute favourite!

However here are a few of my Number ones!

Cleanse:

I always like to double cleanse my skin in the morning and evening, first to remove any impurities or makeup then second to treat my skin.

First, cleanse:

HydroPeptide Cleansing Gel - Cleanse Tone Makeup Remover , this is a fantastic makeup remover for even heavy makeup wearers.

All you need to do is dampen your face first apply a couple of pumps to the palm of your hand then emulsify and work into the skin in circular motions to remove makeup and impurities.

I then go on to use Dermacare directs own brand:

DermaTx Brighten; This super gentle daily cleanser is great at exfoliating the dead skin cells from the skin with its formulation of Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C & E.

I like to apply my DermaTx to dry skin and leave on for 2 minutes this way I can know that it has had time to work within the skin cleaning and exfoliating leaving my skin super smooth and radiant

To prevent my skin from any free radical damage I love to use Phloretin CF serum.

Although this may be a pricey product I can definitely say it is 100% worth the money, i love the constancy of the this product it is very light however it has a slightly thicker texture to it that the other Vitamin C serums I have used.

I first initially started using Phloretin Cf Serum as I was suffering from Post-inflammatory pigmentation, which is a form of hyperpigmentation that you get when the skin has been inflamed and in my case when the skin has had breakouts.

over a period of time the Phloretin CF assisted in clearing the pigmentation on my face as well as protecting it from further free radical damage.

My Skin Feels so much healthier!

Through the day I like to use something that targets my main concern which is breakouts!

My number 1 go-to product at the moment is Jan Marini Bio clear lotion, however throughout the summer months I sometimes find that this may be slightly too heavy for my skin as it can be much more oilier, which is why I may switch to Medik8 Blemish Control Pads (2% salicylic acid)

Bio clear lotion is great as it resurfaces the skin with the glycolic acid  helping with skin renewal and pigmentation. Salicylic Purges out the impurities in the skin like oil and blackheads. Azelaic acid reduces and soothes papules and pustules, this fantastic concoction of acids helps to clear acne and problematic skin as well as helping with skin rejuvenation.

I always find that my skin looks super dewy when using this product which is why for the colder months Bio clear lotion gets a big thumbs up!

Whilst sleeping I like for my skin to also fight breakouts!

Before bed I like to use PCA Skin Intensive Clarity Treatment®: 0.5% pure retinol night, this super product dries up any little spots that manage to break free, I apply PCA clarify at night time and by the morning the spots have been dried up!

Sounds too good to be true!

Its not!

For me it works miracles however I can't guarantee it would work like this for you, but i can say that it's worth a go!

I would suggest to gradually introduce retinol and any AHA's slowly into your routine to minimise the chances of skin sensitivity and flaking however this is a normal skin response to using such active products.

Moisturising is a a great way to help keep the skin hydrated!

Other than drinking water of course!

A moisturiser always seems to give the skin the little boost it needs to keep that healthy glow! My favourite moisturiser can depend on the weather, however at the moment I love Medik8's Beta moisturiser, I like to apply my moisturiser either morning or night during the warmer months, however, at the moment the weather seems to be drying my skin out slightly so I will apply it as and when my skin may need it.

Beta moisturiser is an oil-free pore minimising moisturiser that mattifies the skin whilst hydrating, It also contains niacinamide which retains essential moisture. Exhibits an anti-inflammatory action, whilst  reducing redness and irritation. Assists with exfoliation, preventing pore blockages, which can lead to blemishes.

Mineral radiance SPF

Finally my last daily skincare product would have to be SkinCeuticals Mineral radiance! This is a factor 50 sun protector with a unique, lightweight, ultra-sheer  tinted coverage which is adapted to suit every ethnicity. I like to use my mineral radiance every day and find that it is enough coverage to use as a foundation.

Weekly treatments

At least once a week I try to make time for a face mask, my go-to mask has to be PCA Skin Purifying Mask. This mask exfoliates, detoxifies and removes impurities from the skin to leave it looking and feeling smooth, clear and bright. It gently removes impurities whilst nourishing rough, dull and dehydrated skin. The purifying mask contains micro-fine pumice to help gently exfoliate the skins surface reducing sebum production and clearing breakouts.
