How Do Eyelash Growth Serums Work?

A lash growth serum works by actively helping to lengthen the growth phase (also known as the anagen stage) and prevent lash loss for noticeable results. Your eyelashes go through a process of three recurring life cycles. They consist of: anagen, catagen, and finally telogen.

• Anagen: The first stage. The hair follicles are new and actively growing here.

• Catagen: The transition stage. The lash follicle begins to shrink, detach itself from the blood supply, and stop growing.

• Telogen: The resting stage. The final stage where the lash eventually falls out ready for the anagen stage to begin again. As we get older the transition from telogen to anagen slows down and in many cases gets cut off. This leads to hair loss, thinning hair and bald spots.

RevitaLash® Cosmetics was founded by an ophthalmologist, who designed RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive to stay where it is applied and not come in contact with eyes and pioneered novel tests to demonstrate the ocular safety of RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive.

RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive was purposefully formulated with a thickener to ensure that it remains on the eyelashes where it is applied and does not drip into the fluid surrounding the eye. The unique applicator wand was specifically developed to apply only a very small amount of product to the eyelashes. It is also important to note that a study conducted on a similar product (RevitaLash® Advanced) by an independent ophthalmologist affiliated with UCLA’s School of Medicine used fluorescent dye to photograph RevitaLash® Advanced after it was applied normally and confirmed that the product does not get into the eye fluid. This is important for two reasons. First, it means that it is safe for the eyes (since it does not come in contact with the eyes). Second, it means that it cannot get into the bloodstream, because the primary entry is through absorption by the surface of the eye.

The ophthalmologist reported there was no irritation to the eyes or change in the intraocular pressure (IOP) over the 4-week study. How Do I Use It?

Start by removing makeup and any other residue. Keep in mind, oil-based makeup removers and cleansers can leave behind a film that may create a barrier between your lashes and the lash conditioner. It’s important to wash off any residue. Using the brush applicator provided, apply a line with the thin brush directly to your eyelashes, above the lash line. It is not necessary to apply more frequently than once per day. Let dry completely before applying additional beauty products. Be patient and wait for your healthier looking lashes results to show!
