Choosing The Right Frames

Let's take it back to basics, choosing your actual frames. What are you going for? Does the colour, shape, and style really matter? Well, yes. Choosing a more eccentric pair of glasses might seem like a great decision in the moment however, it might make it slightly more difficult to work with later on. When choosing your next pair of glasses, of course you need to make them suit you and make you feel your absolute best but also, you want them to be a staple in your wardrobe that can be recycled constantly.

Most people opt for neutrals such as black, brown, tortoise and even clear frames now. However, if your budget allows, you may want to pick up several pairs in order to switch up your image easily.

Consider choosing a frame style that is large enough to show off your entire eye. Frames that are smaller than your eye shape typically disort and disrupt your eye makeup for a less favoured end result.

Makeup Tip 1 - Avoid Wearing Too Much Foundation

Maybe an obvious one to some however, the thicker the foundation the more obvious imperfections such as dents, red marks, and smudged makeup from where your glasses have been sitting will be. If you feel that you need extra coverage then, we would suggest keeping it light around the nose area. You can always pinpoint additional coverage over blemishes with your concealer.

Makeup Tip 2 - Consider Using A Powder Foundation

Powder foundation is less likely to smudge as it has more wearability due to it's texture. Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base Mineral Foundation SPF 20 is a great option.

Makeup Tip 3 - Put Down The Black Kohl Liner

Glasses typically create shadows in the eye area so, you want to keep the under eye area as bright as possible. An undereye concealer is the best way to achieve this. Concealer will instantly lift, brighten, and a great makeup artist trick. A few dots of delilah Take Cover Radiant Cream Concealer blend into the inner corner of the eye and up to the outer corner will make anyone look like they achieved 9 hours of beauty sleep.

When it comes to eye makeup, if you don't think that you can put down the kohl pencil completely, try and lessen the application instead. Tight lining your upper lash line rather than a 360 liner will make all the difference, just make sure to keep the lower lash line makeup free.

Choosing the perfect makeup for glasses does not have to be so extreme, and you should still be choosing something that you can feel comfortable and confident wearing. If you can't see yourself wearing pastels and bright colors on the eye area then think about metallics, shimmers, and neutrals instead. They will instantly open up and compliment the eye area. Metallics espeically look very subtle but still gently provide a brightening effect to make the eyes pop and maintain drama above the lash line.

Makeup Tip 4 - Curl Your Eyelashes

When you curl your lashes, you give your eyes an instant lift. Priotise curled lashes over length though, for both mascara and when having lash extensions, too long lashes are only going to brush against your glasses all day long with every blink (a guaranteed annoyance!).

Makeup Tip 5 - Balance Bold Frames With A Bold Lip

Love a bold pair of glasses? You might choose a striking frame as you have very strong facial features or simply because you love to make a statement however, bringing balance to your face shape is important. Combining your bold glasses with a bright, bold lip brings symmetry and proportion.

Are you a classic red or hot pink kind of person? Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Lip Stain in Forever Red is the perfect shade of red for all skin tone and delilah Colour Intense Lipstick in Stilletto is a beautiful pink sure to make a statement.

Makeup Tip 6 - Don't Neglect The Brows

Don't neglect your eyebrows, but don't overdo it either. If your frames are delicate and small then your brows are likely to be on show so it might be a good idea making sure that they are neat and groomed. However, if your frames are stylishly oversized and thicker then you probably don't need to waste as much time on them today.
