SkinCeuticals was founded in 1994 by the renowned scientist and dermatologist Dr. Sheldon Pinnell, a pioneer in the use of Vitamin C for skincare. Dr. Pinnell earned his medical education from two prestigious Ivy League institutions, Harvard University and Yale University.

Dr Pinnell's fascination with skincare focused on the anti-aging properties of vitamin C, leading to the establishment of several patents concerning this essential component. This powerful antioxidant is known for its ability to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation. Throughout his career, he published numerous peer-reviewed studies, solidifying his influence in the field. Sadly, he passed away in 2013.

In 1997, Skinceuticals introduced its inaugural antioxidant product, a formulation of pure Vitamin C.
