Stretch Mark Treatments
Stretch marks are narrow, streak-like lines that can develop on the surface of the skin. They're also sometimes known as stria or striae. Stretch marks are often red or purple at first, before gradually fading to a silvery-white colour. Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermis, and over time can diminish but not disappear completely. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (e.g. pregnancy or muscle building) that overcomes the dermis's elasticity.
Microdermabrasion and Microneedle Therapy have been found to be very effective treatment to help reduce stretch marks.
High concentration and long-term use of AHA products are also recommeneded.
