How To Treat Quarantine Breakouts

One would think that by not having to commute daily during lockdown, pollution exposure to skin would be reduced; and by not wearing make-up and having more time for pampering would result in us all having glowing complexions!

But I understand that this is not the case, and bad breakouts in particular are a huge concern for many.

The main culprit is stress as we are having to endure these strange and uncertain times.

When we’re anxious the production of cortisol in the body increases, which causes inflammation and can also result in an increase of oil production in the sebaceous glands.

This excess oil along with clogged pores can cause acne ranging from blackheads to whiteheads and pimples to cystic acne.

Stress-eating your way through this pandemic while understandable, doesn’t help either. It is important to try and eat a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fruit & vegetables, that are full of antioxidants.
