Dry Skin

Dry skin looks dull, feels rough and tight and can be prone to flakiness and itching. It is believed dry skin can be a result of lack of water (or moisture) on the skin surface. Another reason is the lack of natural oils in the body. As people get older, the number of sebaceous glands that give out a type of oil in the skin are reduced, as is the ability to hold moisture. Dryness can be brought on by environmental factors such as the sun, strong winds and dry atmosphere. For the skin to be healthy it needs moisture and it needs to stay hydrated. You can do this by drinking lots of water on a daily basis and by moisturising your skin day and night.
