The britebox dermaclear is an effective acne treatment lamp using innovative light-waves (840 medical LEDs), which kill P. acnes and promotes healing (reducing the chances of scaring). By combining blue and red LED technology, the Dermaclear is a natural acne treatment which is highly effective and safe.

Clinical studies show that blue light and red light, working at specific wavelengths, act together in clearing mild to severe acne. The blue light (415nm) has an antibacterial effect whilst the red light (633nm) acts as an effective anti-inflammatory.

How the britebox dermaclear works:

Blue LED (415nm)
It has long been known that sun light (UV light) will improve acne. However, because of photo ageing and medical side effects, UV lights are not recommended as a safe treatment for acne.

More recently, a peak wavelength of 415nm, which is outside the UV range and therefore safe, have been found to be a highly effective acne treatment. It is known that Propionibacterium acnes (P. acne) produce porphyrins during their normal life cycle. Porphyrins absorb light energy at the near UV and visible blue light spectrum. The irradiation of P. acnes with blue visible lights (415nm) lead to photo excitation of bacterial porphyrins, singlet oxygen production and eventually bacterial destruction.

Red Light (633nm)
It has been found that exposure to 633nm low-level wavelengths release cytokines. Cytokines stimulate fibroblast proliferation and the production of growth factors, thus influencing the inflammatory process, healing and ultimately wound repair and has been found to significantly improve postoperative open wounds. This light will reduce any chance of scarring.

Frequently asked questions about britebox dermaclear

Will it hurt?
No. Unlike lasers or other ablative (skin harming) treatments, the britebox dermaclear is non-thermal, non-ablative, non-invasive and thus will not hurt.
How long before I see a result?
Each person responds at different speeds. Some much quicker than others. Most people see initial results in 4 to 8 weeks, many see results in as short as 1 to 3 weeks. A few people will take as long as 9 to 11 weeks, but this is more unusual.
Are there any negative side effects?
There are no side effects with this type of treatment. This has been demonstrated through short and long term clinical studies.
Can it damage my eyes/Do I need to use the goggles provided?
The blue LEDs emit a short wavelength of light and can be detrimental to eyes if used without protection for prolonged periods. This can bring on a condition called ‘age related macular degeneration’. Although the blue light is outside the UV spectrum (it will have the same effect as UV light in killing p. acnes) and will not cause tanning, we do stress that the user should wear the UV protective goggles supplied.
Can I use it with other creams or medications?
Yes the britebox dermaclear can be used alone or with other skin care treatments.
People taking medication such as roaccutane should consult their skin specialist before using the britebox dermaclear.
Will I need to replace the LEDs?
If used as per instructions The LED panels have a life expectancy of approximately 400 hours. We would, therefore, not expect for you to replace the LED panels within the products lifetime.
Do I need to use it every day?
You will achieve the best results if you use the britebox dermaclear for 15 minutes daily (5 days out of 7 per week) Continued use is recommended as part of your normal skin care routine. A marked improvement should be seen after 1 month and optimal results are achieved after 12 weeks.
Will it also work on my neck and hands?
The britebox dermaclear will be as effective on any part of the body.
Does it work for any skin type?
Yes, the britebox revive is proven to work on all skin types.
Can I use it for more than 15 minutes per day?
Yes, some people find using it for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night achieve good results, especially at times of stress. However, the related clinical studies recommend 15 minutes as per our instructions, although it is safe to use more if required.
Can I use the britebox dermaclear whilst pregnant?
The britebox dermaclear is completely safe to use whilst pregnant. Care must be taken that children are not left unsupervised with electrical appliances.

I had acne in my teens to early twenties and it is all but gone now. I still had the
occasional breakout, but nothing major. But it was the condition of my skin post acne
that got me down the most: oily, dull skin, huge pours, scarring, embarrassing
