Q – I have Oily skin should I use a moisturiser?
A – Oily skin does not imply hydrated skin. You need to distinguish the difference between the two. Oily skin refers to the overproduction of sebum, oil, by the sebaceous glands, while hydrated skin refers to the water content in your skin. This implies that even oily skins need to moisturise, otherwise the sebaceous glands will be overstimulated, producing even more oil. You should therefore use a moisturiser for oily skins, which will moisturise the skin and simultaneously balance the sebaceous secretions and have antibacterial and astringent properties, to prevent breakout activity and close open pores.

I tried everything to treat my hyperpigmentation but it doesn’t seem to go away. What can I do?
It is very important to understand that pigmentation can not be treated from one day to another. It requires more or less 2 or 3 months of treatment before any results are going to start to be visible, firstly because it occurs at the cellular level and secondly because it needs to be controlled before it is removed.
Ingredients to use to treat hyperpigmentation is Phytic acid or Kojic acid.
Kojic acid & Phytic acid helps correct melanin pigmentation and are suitable for melasma, chloasma, age/sun spots and pigmentation etc Studies indicate that theses acids show greater effectiveness than Hydroquinone based bleaching preparation with less sensitivity, side or long-term complications.
What Kojic acid does?
It inhibits the production of excess melanin, prevents excess melanin from traveling to the skin’s surface, and breaks up melanin clusters on the skin’s surface to diminish existing discoloration.

Most important part of your skincare regime is sun protection. Make sure that you use it daily, even when cloudy as it prevents further pigmentation marks
Also using regularly exfoliants like AHA’s (glycolic acid) can also help fade pigmentation as it increases exfoliation and skin cell turnover. If you haven’t got very sensitive skin, I would go for glycolic acid product

So, as the New Year has begun, get rid of that same old boring resolution to lose weight or save money, and instead pledge to take better care of your skin. Treat your skin properly this year and don’t take it for granted that it’ll still look the same in a decade.
ONE
Resolve to incorporate an alpha-hydroxy acid product into your regimen—either a cleanser like Jan Marini Bioglycolic cleanser or a cream like NeoStrata Ultra Daytime Smoothing Cream SPF15. Using a product that contains AHA’s everyday will help keep you skin glowing and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots.

TWO
Resolve to be diligent about sunscreen application, even on cloudy days, because ultraviolet rays (especially UVA rays) are omnipresent. They even penetrate window glass. Wearing SPF on a daily basis will help prevent skin cancers and premature aging. Neova SmartSunscreens offers a new excellent formulation which repairs & protects.

THREE
Resolve to adding an antioxidant into your skincare regime. Topical Vitamin-C products, over time, visibly improve skin clarity, tone and texture and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin with a firmer, smoother, younger looking appearance. It also helps neutralise free radicals (pollutants, sunlight, stress, smoking), that break down collagen, accelerate aging and even contribute to skin cancer.
FOUR
Resolve to stick to one skin care regimen for at least 3 months. With so many products on the market, people switch around too often. Invest in a Cosmeticeutical skincare regimen (cleanser, treatment product, moisturiser, and sunscreen) that’s formulated for your skin type—and use it every day, twice a day, for 3 months. Persistence will pay off!
FIVE
Resolve to eating better, by eating more fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs, healthy oils and whole grains. A nutritious diet is fundamental in optimising skin health and preventing aging. Also drinking plenty of water because water ensures the skin retains optimal moisture and volume, helping to keep it supple and preventing premature aging.
